Rashida Morisiya
Director of NELTA
I am the Director of NELTA, as well as Associate Assistant Principal and PCM at Beal High School. I have always been involved with NELTA in my previous capacity as Deputy Director of Sixth Form, whether it be through the development of key leadership programmes, supporting trainee and NQT/ECT development or though the delivery of training sessions. As part of my role, I lead our Professional Development team in running our SCITT programme, leadership programmes, CPD and subject forums.


Lorna Eales
Programme Leader for PE – ITT
I am responsible for recruiting and supporting the development of PE trainee teachers throughout the partnership. I also support and train the Physical Education mentors throughout our strong partnership of schools.
Liz Irving
ECT programme lead, NELTA Tutor and Subject forum co-ordinator
As the ECT programme lead for Beal High School, my role is to ensure that our programme provides the best possible support for our ECTs, from guidance, support and weekly CPD sessions.
As an ITT tutor for NELTA, my role is to support the planning and delivery of the ITT programme. To ensure that our trainees gain valuable experience with the guidance of mentors and tutors through feedback from lessons and weekly Subject knowledge and tool kit sessions. As a tutor my role is to engage with mentors and trainees, to ensure that both have clear understanding of the training framework and how best to support progress.
As the Subject forum co-ordinator my role is to provide subject networks that provide effective forums from which subject leaders from different schools can share good practice, resources and ideas. Working in collaboration with Seven Kings school alliance we are able to provide forums that extend to all subject areas.

Kathryn Burns
Executive Principal/CEO BMAT
Kathryn provides creative, strategic direction and leadership to the Beacon Academy Trust; developing the vision, values and key aims for the MAT with Trustees and Leaders. She balances her time between BMAT central activity and working closely with the Trust Executive securing improvement across the MAT. Through the identification of key priorities and school improvement strategies she champions collaboration to realise the BMAT vision and values; working towards the agreed goals by constantly reviewing and evaluating progress, value for money and student impact to refresh the vision. Kathryn has a wide-ranging background that includes school and corporate leadership, advisory and consultancy work locally and nationally. Most recently founding BMAT leading on establishing its’ constitution, incorporating the teaching alliance, SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) and Beacon Business Innovation Hub Free School; whilst building the central services infrastructure to support the BMAT schools and create the capacity to consolidate and grow outstanding BMAT practice to improve student progress and outcomes.
