Seven Kings High School

Seven Kings provides a broad, rich and balanced curriculum that offers all students the opportunities to succeed and to find their element. We focus on teaching students the skills to be effective learners, to encourage in them a love of learning that they will keep throughout their life and to be a good citizen. We are proud that we offer music, languages, design and technology, drama, art alongside humanities and science in our Sixth Form. We are also excited to offer specialist teaching and facilities to our very youngest learners and await to see where this will take the school in the future! We offer many enrichment opportunities which add to the student’s experience and development as an individual.

The learning that takes place in the classroom is the cornerstone of the school’s success and what has gained us a local and national reputation. The school is always oversubscribed and enjoys strong support from parents and governors. We provide a high-quality education to local children regardless of their ability. We are, as Ofsted stated, a ‘harmonious school with an excellent learning environment….an exceptional environment in which all pupils thrive’. Ofsted 2018

Our motto of Friendship Excellence Opportunity is the golden thread that weaves itself through all we do. To learn well you have to feel safe and secure with your peers and with all staff. We work hard to ensure through our recruitment that we employ dedicated teachers who are well qualified and passionate about teaching young people, providing outstanding, lifelong learning. Our students are enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious to succeed and maintain very high standards of behaviour and engagement in their studies. We encourage them to be reflective and creative in their thinking and to become increasingly independent learners as they progress through the school.

Every student needs guidance and encouragement and at Seven Kings we aim to meet individual needs by providing the right level of challenge and support to ensure students reach their full potential. We also have learning mentors to support students when they need that extra support and mentoring schemes with both staff and student mentors. We are very proud of the inclusive nature of our school and aim to personalise learning and teaching so that every student is able to succeed.

Beyond the Classroom

There are many opportunities for students to take part in extracurricular activities at Seven Kings. A large number of clubs and activities take place outside lesson time. Staff are committed to providing different opportunities to enrich the lives of our students. From subject-based clubs such as art, drama, music, science, sport and technology to trips and visits beyond the classroom nationally and internationally. We offer a number of residential trips to places like Paris, Spain, China and outdoor pursuits and skiing trips to Austria. This is where memories are formed and lifelong friendships made. Students are encouraged to enter competitions and to contribute to the community in different ways. Our peer committees and student leadership programs help develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for students to be heard. One wonderful aspect of being an all through school is our youngest students being taught by our oldest whether in Maths or reading or PE. Joining together in music concerts, sports days and drama productions. Having positive role models in their everyday lives. We are a proud and ambitious school and we consistently challenge each other to be better versions of ourselves. The Good School Guide describes us as “..a place which, once visited, will resonate with you for a long time afterwards – not least because it is a school with a massive heart and social conscience. As a result, there is a lot of love and respect and it has often been used as a benchmark to demonstrate what a state school in a deprived area is capable of achieving”.

We invite students and staff alike to wear the crown, to live and breathe our Seven Kings’ values. I hope this website will give you some insight into our school.

Valentine High School

As the Headteacher of Valentines High School, I am delighted to welcome you.

Our school combines the traditional values of discipline, respect and good behaviour with leading-edge practice in teaching and learning.

We strive for every member of the school community to be the very best they can be. Our aim is to help our students develop into happy, educated young people with the desire and drive to succeed. We work hard to prepare our students to be well-rounded, global citizens who are open-minded and happy with meaningful qualifications that will maximise opportunities once they leave school.

The school is part of regional and national networks such as an SSAT, Leading Edge and the Education Development Trust Schools Partnership programme. We are truly at the ‘cutting edge’ of new educational developments and leave no stone unturned in seeking ways to further enhance the educational experience of each and every one of our students.

The school was recently inspected, in October 2021 and Ofsted rated us as Outstanding in all categories. The report states that, Pupils and sixth form students are happy in school. They enjoy each other’s company and offer a warm welcome to those new to the school. Pupils are respectful and get along well with all. As a result, the school is a harmonious community and incidents of bullying are rare. Pupils across school achieve highly in all subjects. This includes students in the sixth form.

Indeed, our school motto is ‘In harmony, achieving excellence’ and everything we do is planned to enable us to achieve this vision. Our behaviour code focuses on respect for oneself and for others. We emphasise the importance of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education in an environment where all faiths and cultures are respected.

The school places a real emphasis on the quality of student experience. Our curriculum and extra curricular opportunities develop students character so they can play a full role in the life at and outside of school.

I look forward to meeting you at upcoming school events.

Beal High School

Beal High School Logo

Beal High School

We know that Beal is a very special school and we were proud to have this confirmed by Ofsted when they judged us to be OUTSTANDING in all categories in March 2012. During their visit they observed a learning environment that has been created to challenge, support and inspire. They saw well qualified, committed and caring teachers who encourage every student to develop their full potential and personality. They commended our ‘exemplary behaviour, mutual respect and highly inclusive culture’; and we were pleased that they recognised the outstanding progress made by students and the high standards reached.

Our students proved themselves worthy of this praise, again, with their superb examination results this year. Their success at Key Stage 4 exceeds our highest ever results – 80% A*- C including English and Maths with 95% of students achieving 5A* – C grades. Key Stage 5 results are even better this year with an average point score of 786 and contrary to the national trend, 12% of all students achieved the coveted straight A*/A grades meaning that 92% of our Sixth Form can take their place at the university of their choice. However, as an inclusive school, of most significance for us is our anticipated Value Added score of 1042 for Year 11 meaning considerably enhanced progression and life choices for all students. This phenomenal achievement reflects the consistently hard work of students and teachers, placing us in the top 5% of schools.

This success means that we have welcomed the expansion of Beal High School to 12 forms of entry with confidence. This Year 7 cohort is the first of 360 students and they are settling well into the Beal team. We have planned carefully for their arrival and we know that this exciting venture will increase the opportunities for many more students to benefit from our high quality provision. Many of the students experienced our Summer School in August, enjoying a range of fun activities designed to support literacy, and numeracy, and ensure a smooth transition. Our Sixth Form continues to grow and our Communication and Learning Department has increased in size; providing an exciting and purposeful opportunity for post 16 students.

As well as maximising achievement for Beal students, we continue to act as Academy Sponsor for The Forest Academy. Working in partnership has sharpened our own practice and we look forward to sustaining this improvement as both schools go from strength to strength.

Our school improvement work has been extended through the development of NELTA. Our commitment to inclusive education means that in September 2014 we will open the Beal Business and Innovation Hub, approved by the DfE offering alternative provision for students. We are creating a coherent approach that aligns education, training, skills and employment services on our campus to raise standards in education for all; we believe every young person deserves the best education possible.

Forest Academy Logo

The Forest Academy

The Forest Academy works with the whole community in developing strong partnerships, which will provide support for all stakeholders and ensure a successful learning environment, which challenges, supports and inspires.

All our students are encouraged to achieve their full potential through common and shared purposes, agreed by consensus, commitment and celebrating achievement. Our students will receive the best learning opportunities and experiences through creating an ethos where students’ interests and their quality of learning are central to the school’s work and purpose. Our aim is to maximise achievement through personalised learning in a positive culture of respect and independence.

In May 2010, the then Hainault Forest High School went into special measures for the second time.  The five areas of focus that were identified as being most in need of improvement were; attainment, teaching and learning, behaviour, attendance and outcomes in the Sixth Form.  This judgement precipitated Beal High School’s involvement (Outstanding, Ofsted March 2011) with the school, firstly as a partnership and latterly as the sponsor of The Forest Academy since 1st January 2012.

The journey has been rapid and sustained, culminating in the Ofsted judgement of September of September 2013 of The Forest Academy being a Good school in all four categories.

Bremer School Logo

Frederick Bremer School

“A very warm welcome to Frederick Bremer School which is an excellent local school at the heart of the local community. I have recently joined the school as Headteacher, and am incredibly honoured to be leading a school as special as this. Frederick Bremer is a new school, having only opened in 2008, and it prides itself on being a welcoming, friendly and successful school. All the staff in the school work incredibly hard to ensure every learner is supported, known and nourished in their development to adulthood – both academically and socially. We have a relentless ambition to make Bremer an outstanding community school, which we are all proud to be a part of.

Why is Bremer so special? There is an ethos in this school which is unique. While the school is a representative microcosm of its local community in terms of the diversity of our intake, it is held together by an invisible fabric. This is a school where every pupil is known, where relationships are positive and where children feel safe. In addition, all the stakeholders in the school recognise the value of the community and work incredibly hard to ensure that we all respect and understand our rights and responsibilities as 21st century Londoners. Whilst this school is increasingly successful in terms of our GCSE results, we also recognise the importance of developing the whole child and enfranchising them to be able to become active and responsible citizens and leaders of the 21st century.

Eastbury School Logo

Eastbury County School

It has been my privilege to work at Eastbury, as a comprehensive and community school, in a range of roles and now as Head of Secondary. The consistent factor throughout my time at the school has been the unique attributes of the students. Our students demonstrate impressive qualities that include resilience, ambition and respect for others.

Their resilience manifests itself by displaying a dedication to their studies and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Their ambition has been evident by the goals that they set themselves and how they have made active plans to achieve those goals. Their respect for others is apparent by their outstanding behaviour, courtesy and kindness.

Eastbury is a true community where the staff are wholly committed to provide the best opportunities for the learners and where the students take responsibility for their own actions. The peer mediators, prefects and student leaders are a credit to themselves and their families.

Eastbury is in a better position than at any time in our history. With the completion of the final phase of building works, improved facilities and the continued commitment of staff and students, we look forward to seeing Eastbury grow to the next level of success.

West Hatch is a happy, thriving school.  Every student is able to access a wide learning experience, both via the curriculum pathway structure, but also in the vast array of enrichment and extra curricular activities epitomised in the school’s ‘Opportunity Curriculum’. Woodbridge Logo

Woodbridge High School

Woodbridge High School is a thriving, successful 11-18 school in the heart of Woodford. Ofsted describes it as a place where students show very positive attitudes to learning and are well behaved, courteous and respectful of staff and of each other. Students are given every opportunity to realise their potential, achieving excellent exam results in a secure and happy environment. The vast majority of students choose to continue their education at Woodbridge as part of the large and vibrant Sixth Form. A dedication to high standards and to the success of every student is reinforced by the school’s motto: Pride in Achievement.

Woodford County High School Logo

Woodford County High School

Rated “Outstanding” when Ofsted last visited in 2009, the school continues to perform impressively in public examinations and its leavers go on each year to study at the country’s top universities. Our students make a positive impression wherever they go and we are as proud of the people they become as of the results they achieve.

Woodford’s success is the result of striking a fine balance between tradition and innovation. Our values are traditional ones and we offer an unashamedly academic curriculum. We are keenly aware, however, that we are preparing our students for a working life none of us can yet anticipate. Our focus, therefore, is on developing the skills, attributes and habits of mind that will equip them as life-long learners. Woodford leavers are articulate, self-confident and skilled in the use of modern technologies. Our aim is to launch them into the world as self-starters, focused but flexible, armed with the courage to grasp opportunities and the resilience and humour to negotiate setbacks along the way. Above all we want them to be equipped to lead happy, fulfilling and useful lives, wherever and however they choose to lead them.

Woodford enjoys an enviable reputation for intellectual, artistic and sporting achievements.  In all of these domains, and others beside, we encourage and support our students in exploring their own potential, nurturing existing talents and interests and discovering new ones along the way.  Our community, of course, is made up of individuals.  To ensure we enable each and every girl to fulfil her potential, an emphasis is placed on personalisation, on proactive mentoring and on pastoral care.   And the academic curriculum is complemented by a wide and stimulating range of extra-curricular activities.  There is something for everyone.  Our students will embark upon adult life conscious of their worth, ambitious for their futures and aware that they are lucky indeed to have been educated here.Woodford works in collaboration with a number of schools, universities and other organisations.   We’re committed to sustaining these existing partnerships and, as the opportunities arise, to building new ones.  Membership of the North East London Teaching  Alliance (NELTA) is central to this aim.  As schools work ever more creatively, to do more for less, we’re keen to collaborate on projects which extend opportunities both for our own students and for those enrolled in nearby schools.
